K-9 Angels Spayathon March 2020
This was a 'mini spayathon' which nearly didn’t happen because of the Corona virus outbreak. Franco Vet kindly managed to sterilise thrity eight animals out of the fifty spays booked in, then he had to stop for safety and as directed from the Romanian authorities. The thrity eight operations were done over two full busy days, working in a dedicted area with an experienced team monitoring the animals recovery and giving pain relief.
More spays will go ahead once we have the all clear that the public can travel to the vet again and it’s totally safe for everyone to be out and about.
We are so grateful to all who donated to our mass spay and neuter campaign, and all who sponsored Victoria & Alanas Tough Mudder challenge last year, this is where YOUR donations go!
The numbers speak for themselves. Spaying and neutering makes a big difference: Just one unaltered female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 puppies in only six years. This is why our mass sterilisation campaign is so important. You literally nip the problem in the bud before many pups are born and left to die. Prevention is better than cure....and sometimes tere is no cure, only slow, painful deaths on the streets or in dreadful public shelters.
We extend a huge thank you once again to Madalina for organising everything, and to the wonderful vets at Franco Vet,Petrisor and Mihaela, for their dedication in making this happen. We must not forget the wonderful rescuers and local people who brought dogs (and some cats too) to be sterilised. You have done an amazing thing and saved animals from suffering in the future.
Together we are preventing so much suffering! We are hugely grateful, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
