Happy New Year to everyone and many thanks for your continuing support for K-9 Angels. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, as without you we couldn’t manage to support the shelter and help our trusted rescuers, you are amazing and we are very grateful!

With your support in mind we would like to thank all of you for your generous donations which fund our shelter in Romania. During this next phase of development we are planning large individual dog houses, in order to give the most traumatised rescued dogs much needed time to de-stress and acclimatise before they are ready to be rehomed. These kennels will become a place of true sanctuary for nine damaged and stressed dogs, helping them to become happy and learn to trust humans again. We will update you with all progress on our K-9 Angels website and Facebook page.

To continue to develop this haven at K-9 Angels Beta’s Land shelter please donate at https://www.k-9angels.org/donate Ref: Shelter

Dogs in Romania have to brave the cold winds and snow of winter with temperatures of -20. They need to eat double rations merely to survive! Could you help by pledging £8 a month for a bag of food for the dogs in the shelter? If you become a sponsor, we will update you with photos from the shelter showing your name as a sponsor and place your name on our appeal chart demonstrating progress. You will be saving canine lives by your contributions and every penny donated goes directly for the benefit of the dogs, as all of the Team at K-9 Angels are volunteers.

Please also message us if you can help a dog on a regular basis as we have a ‘sponsor an oldie’ scheme in place too.

Now to some updates about Snowy, the stray dog that Madalina found in a field with a broken leg. K-9 Angels have supported his surgery and now he has had a thicker titanium plate fitted in the hopes that this will avoid an amputation. We await the latest news as currently he is suffering from a bone infection, this has been a long haul recovery for this lovely boy who has been so good at the vets on his daily visits to have dressings changed. We have high hopes that we have found a forever home for Snowy, despite all he has been through all he wants is the love and care that has been so lacking in his earlier life; is that too much to ask for? We would like to think that all dogs could have a great life to look forward to – please always adopt your furry friend, they have so much love to give.

FEEDING THE STRAYS IN WINTER One of our trusted rescuers, Madalina, continues to feed stray street and foster dogs in Craovia throughout the depths of winter. Driving many miles around the fields and abandoned factories in order to get to the dogs in need, Madalina often funds the fuel and food supplies from her own pocket. Just a few regular donations would enable her to continue her work.

A new happy ever after ‘tail’ from one of our team members. Twitter manager Federica tells the story:

“Back in July I had to face a thought I had been trying to ignore for a while: at some point in the next couple of years, one of my two girls aged 12 and 15 would be left alone. My original three had become two and the thought of one being alone was heartbreaking, so I decided to adopt another dog. Aware of the work of K-9 Angels I turned to them for a companion for Jade and Wendy. I fell in love with Bailey, who became Jackson. The bright eyes, long ears and chocolate coat ensured he was the right one, stealing my heart instantly.

A long drive home didn’t tire him and he was soon exploring the house, before crashing out on the sofa, a space he has now made his own. He is settled and the three of them have their own hierarchy and take turns for cuddles. It is hard to imagine life without him and his hugs are almost human as any visitor will attest to. He has won everyone’s hearts!”

We are so pleased to announce that we have the most incredible runner to share this heart-warming story to help raise funds for dogs in desperate need.

In September 2017 Adrian was taking part in an Ultra Marathon in the mountains in Romania, when a stray dog decided to join him. The journey that Adrian took with the little dog he named Ultra was quite incredible, Adrian getting lost at one point but Ultra found him and got the race back on track. Adrian and Ultra came third in the 105 KM run through the mountains. Now Adrian has adopted Ultra and she has inspired him to help many more stray dogs just like her.

We are delighted that Adrian will run the Virgin Money London Marathon on 22nd April 2018 for K-9 Angels, raising much needed funds to help many more dogs just like Ultra. Even more apt then that Adrian found Ultra in Romania, where our shelter is based. A very ‘happy tail’ indeed!

Please SPONSOR and SHARE, we are a non-profit charity and ALL volunteers. ALL funds raised will go to help dogs in need, just like Ultra. Here’s the link to sponsor: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/AdrianIrimiea

Here’s Adrian’s & Ultras story

K-9 Angels really does bring people and dogs together in the best possible way. If you are planning on attending the London Marathon on 22nd April please do get in touch with us, we would be delighted to meet supporters and adopters to share the joys of rescue!

With love, Team K-9 Angels xx
