OUR PATRON

Sue Barker CBE

K-9 Angels' Patron: Sue Barker CBE

On their 5th anniversary in December 2016 K-9 Angels were delighted to announce that Sue Barker CBE as a Patron of the UK-based all volunteer dog rescue charity K-9 Angels. Sue adopted a dog from K-9 Angels - here is Baiatu's story....

Two years ago Sue and her husband Lance decided they wanted to help the charity further by adopting a rescue dog that wasn’t easy to rehome.

Baiatu and a pack of seven other dogs were found on old factory grounds, where they lived off food scraps thrown to them by factory workers.

The dogs had been rehomed in a temporary compound by the K-9 Angels, one by one Baiatu’s friends all found homes, but Baiatu wasn't so lucky.

I’ve been a dog lover all my life and a dog owner for some 28 years, so this charity is close to my heart”.

K-9 Angels help some of the million dogs roaming wild on Romania’s streets before they’re hunted down by ‘dog catchers’ and stuck in squalid state-run pounds awaiting euthanasia.

“Rescuing him and welcoming him into our home has been the most amazing experience. We did wonder what we were taking on. Was he house-trained? Would he walk on a lead?”

“We had so many questions - but the charity was wonderfully reassuring and supportive.”

He has settled into Sue’s home really well and Baiatu, or Batty as he is now fondly known as, is “the cleanest dog we’ve ever had, he’s never had an accident. He walks immaculately on the lead too.”

We are so delighted that Sue has become a patron of K-9 Angels. She is as passionate about dogs as we are and has provided a wonderful home to Baiatu too. We can’t thank her enough.

THANK YOU!
Thank you so much BBC Gloucestershire for highlighting our charity K-9 Angels. We are a small UK charity run solely by volunteers, so this exposure means so much to us & will hopefully help many more rescue dogs like Sue Barker's Batty.
Thank you to Sue Barker CBE our charity patron, it is so wonderful to have credit to Madalina, an incredible rescuer who helps so many dogs like Sue's Batty.

We are delighted for Sue, who has been an amazing support to our charity since she joined us in 2016.
